AASD FOUNDATION

GRANT PARTNERS PROGRAM FACT SHEET

For a minimum $500 tax-deductible donation (which can be paid annually, semi-annually or quarterly) businesses and individuals can positively-impact the educational process in the Altoona Area School District by becoming a Foundation Grant Partner.

At the beginning of each school year, all Altoona teachers have an opportunity to apply for grants for innovative, curriculum-related projects they'd like to try with their students. The AASD Foundation Projects Committee carefully evaluates each request and recommends the projects which will be funded for the year.

Once the AASD Foundation Board of Directors approves the projects to be funded, our Grant Partners will be able to select a classroom project with which they'd like to be involved during the school year. Grant Partners will have the opportunity to stay in close contact with the classroom teacher, visit the project periodically and provide in-kind services if it is necessary and/or feasible.

Mentoring experiences like these will add an important component to each project and help to insure its success.

Each Grant Partner will be recognized in the following ways:

*Grant Partner names will be run on the AASD Electronic Message Board at 17th Street ON A DAILY BASIS. More than 40,000 vehicles pass this sign each day.

Grant Partners giving $1,000 or more will have their names run daily during the prime hours of 8-9:15 a.m. and 4-5:15 p.m. This will be a minimum of 5,000 exposures per month.

Contributors giving $500-$999 per year will receive a minimum of 2250 exposures each month for the next year at varying times between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.

*Grant Partners will be listed in a variety of AASD publications; the Altoona Area School District Foundation's Annual Report; and in a half-page ad in the Altoona Mirror. Names will also be listed on the AASD Foundation web site: www.aasdfoundation.org.

*Additional recognition through local media and building newsletters will also be emphasized.
